Get in shape with your baby!

Joining the gym, learning English, starting a diet… Sound familiar? Every beginning of the year there are many good resolutions that we set for ourselves. Undoubtedly, one of the most repeated and most difficult to comply with is getting in shape. Why? There are many excuses: “I don’t have time”, “I get home very tired”, “I don’t like going to the gym”… And the list grows with the arrival of a baby. At that moment everything takes a back seat and, especially during his first months of life, separating from him to go sports does not seem like an option. But what if you didn’t need to separate?

Motivation is very important to establish a routine and be consistent, and what better motivation than the company of your baby? Nowadays we can find a wide range of directed activities such as yoga or pilates, specifically designed to practice together. In addition to strengthening your muscles and helping to regain your figure, you will have a fun time with your baby as they respond to new stimuli and interact with other babies.

If you enjoy interacting with other moms and need the instructions of a professional to be consistent with your routine, directed classes are the best option. But if you are one of those who prefer to do outdoor sports and not depend on a fixed weekly schedule, there are excellent alternatives.

Running with your baby: the easiest and cheapest option.

Going for a walk or a run is, without a doubt, the easiest and cheapest option. In addition, it is a highly recommended practice for both the baby and you. But remember that, After delivery, it is important that you respect the minimum recommended recovery time, which is usually 4 to 6 weeks, and start doing low-intensity exercises very gradually. As we told you in In this post, the priority during the postpartum period is to take care of your pelvic floor to strengthen the muscles and avoid possible problems such as incontinence. So start with slow-paced walks and as you feel ready, increase the intensity progressively.

You should keep in mind that running pushing a baby stroller will be an extra effort, so don’t get frustrated if you struggle to reach the pace you had before you got pregnant. However, having a stroller specifically designed for running will make the task much easier.

What should you take into account when choosing a running stroller?

The ideal stroller to be able to go for a walk or run, both on asphalted tracks and on uneven terrain, must have these characteristics:

  • Independent suspension on all wheels.
  • Wide and padded backrest for baby’s comfort.
  • Handbrake on the handlebar.
  • Large, inflatable bicycle-style wheels.
  • Compact foldable .

Before you start buying your running stroller, we advise you to think about how you are going to use it. Are you going to go for a run every day? Are you going to use it only on weekends? Do you have enough space to store it? The answer to these questions will help you assess whether the investment you are going to make is really necessary. Aware of all these doubts, at Casualplay we have developed a new concept of stroller designed for those parents who want it all, without spending extra money on several strollers: LOOPi.

LOOPi presents three different models: City, to move around the city; Allroad, ideal for uneven terrain; and Running, to practice sports with your baby. The big advantage? That you have All combinations in one chassis, being able to swap the wheels with a single click. It’s that easy!

Now you have no excuse to go for a run with your baby. Get your LOOPi Running and start enjoying a more active life. And when you’re not using it, put the City wheels on it and move around the city with ease.
