My first Christmas as a mom. By Rojo Valentino
Christmas has been my favorite holiday of the year for as long as I can remember. It is true that I have gone through the typical adolescent period in which everything in general is quite indifferent to you and, in a very small part, these important dates were also affected. But I tell you that it was a lapse and quickly the Christmas spirit that lives in me blossomed and has been there since then, more alive than ever!
Ever since we knew last year that we were expecting our baby, I had been dreaming of many special moments that were going to be even more so thanks to the arrival of this little one; of course, Christmas was crowning the top ten. Pero ahora, doce meses después, me doy cuenta de que la realidad supera a lo que yo creía imaginar. Estas fiestas, con tu bebé ¡son muchísimo mejores! Son lo más.
You may think that I am letting myself be carried away by the emotion of a new mommy at this time. Okay, that’s true and I don’t deny it, but in addition to that I assure you that if I feel so full it’s because Christmas becomes magical with a little one at home.
I consider myself a person who respects, values and tries to maintain many traditions and I couldn’t like Christmas more! Instilling in Edu right now our love for these holidays, the illusion that we breathe in this house (we look like children, just like that!) is something that I am living intensely. In fact, since November we have been starting him in the Christmas world since he wears reindeer pajamas and uses red bibs to take the bibes at home that would delight Santa Claus (I’m very sure)
Ah! As if that were not enough, the crazy one about Christmas , that is, me, who am his mother haha, has been getting his little ears used to Christmas carols for almost a month and I think that for him Michael Bublé and Frank Sinatra are like family already 😉
As a good woman and far-sighted mommy, I’m already scheming the first Christmas looks of this little guy who has a bigger closet almost than mine and I’m having a blast, literally, bomb! In fact, I have days left to put on all the outfits I’m thinking of. All it will be that the gentleman wears several on the same day. I’ll tell you about it.
I can’t wait to see him at his first Christmas Eve dinner and his first Christmas meal; sharing laughter, receiving kisses and cuddles from their great-grandmothers, their grandfathers, their uncles and aunts, their cousins… As my grandmother says, there is no child to start!
Although the night of the grapes is usually more festive or festival hehe, I want to enjoy it too and hug it tightly as we say goodbye to the most beautiful year of our lives and welcome 2017 which will be the year of the first times; Surely very very special too and that we will always remember.
And the Three Kings parade? And the afternoon and night of the Three Kings? And the morning of the Three Kings? Aaaaaaay! I promise you that my skin crawls with pure excitement to be able to live these days with the little person we love the most in the world.
And now, if you want to tell me, how were your first Christmases as moms? For those of you who are first-timers this year like me, do you look forward to them with as much enthusiasm and as much enthusiasm as we do in this house? What traditions can’t you wait to live and pass on to your children?
I wish you a wonderful Christmas full of unforgettable moments with your little ones!
